Relaxation is essential for us all!
We all need to take time off from work and home duties on a regular basis to relax. Relaxation is essential to maintaining wellbeing as it allows our body to rest, relax, recover and repair itself. Unless we relax on a regular basis we will eventually over-tire both our physical body and our mind and this may lead to fatigue; tiredness that is not relieved by sleep. How we choose to relax is immaterial so long as we do find time to do so on a regular basis, and a short amount of free time on a daily basis may be more beneficial than a long period just once a week.
Relaxation is important to our overall health and well-being. Highlands Hammock State Park in Florida (right) is a wonderful place to walk relax, and to enjoy nature at its best. However, we do not need to travel to exotic places to enjoy the true splendour of the natural world around us. Even a half-hour walk in the countryside or local park can rejuvenate us - and the best thing about nature is that it's changing all the time!
We spend so much of our lives rushing from one appointment to the next that we often forget to enjoy the beautiful surroundings that nature provides for our health and relaxation.
